Writer / director Jesse Keller is a graduate of the MFA program at USC’s School of Cinematic Arts. Before film school, he wrote websites for plastic surgeons and personal injury lawyers, worked as a robotic monkey operator at an Indian casino, and backpacked around the world. He published a series of stories about his travels in the San Diego Union Tribune.
Jesse also spent some time acting in theatre productions in and around San Diego. His play “War Stories” was performed as part of the Fritz Theatre’s Fritz Blitz of New Plays.
Jesse’s feature screenplay OUTLAW COUNTRY was a quarterfinalist for the Slamdance Screenplay Competition and a “Second Rounder” for the Austin Film Festival screenplay contest. His short, “The Ritual” played several festivals as well, including the San Diego Film Festival.
THANE OF EAST COUNTY is his first feature film.
